
Yaron Steinbuch is a digital editor at The Journal News/LoHud.com, a Gannett Co. media company in Westchester County, New York.
A native of Israel, he served as a gunner, combat medic and noncommissioned officer in the Artillery Corps of the Israel Defense Forces, attaining the rank of sergeant. He has also lived in Italy and Ghana.
Yaron holds a bachelor's degree (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from New York University and a master's degree (with honors) from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
He is a black belt in taekwondo and an advanced scuba rescue diver. He is a former auxiliary police officer, and a police academy-trained peace officer. His interests include aviation, motorcycling, martial arts, physical fitness and scuba diving.
